Become a Friend of TWR

“Working with volunteers to befriend refugees in our society.” 

Refugees have left their homelands to escape persecution and danger. They are appealing to us to provide a place of safety and security where they can live. They face many challenges as they learn how to integrate into UK society. 

Would you like to support our work?  Can you spare a few pounds each month to help us help people to integrate into their new lives in Somerset?  If so, you can now become a Friend of TWR. All you need to do is set up a Standing Order for monthly or an annual donation, and we will keep you up-to-date with all our activities.

We work hard securing grants to pay for the majority of our projects.  But there are also many things that we pay for that come outside the remit of the funding.  We always want to do more to build communities and to encourage everyone to believe in a brighter future.

Things we will spend your money on include:

  • Bus fares to Taunton so that people can come to English Conversation & Coffee each week.
  • Providing essentials to newly resettled families that are not supplied by the authorities such as warm coats, new school shoes or necessary household items.
  • Building up our library of English Language teaching and reading books which people can borrow and continue to learn independently.
  • Training new volunteers who want to join TWR
  • Organising social events, such as the Summer Picnic or the Christmas Party.

Once you have set up your payments, let us know by emailing to and we can add you to the list of our Friends. You will receive email copies of our Spring, Summer and Autumn Newsletters (unless you ask not to). You can add 25% to the value of your donation by completing a Gift Aid form and including a photo of it.

There are two ways to set up regular payments.
