Museum Visit
As part of their celebration of Refugee Week, Taunton Town Council arranged for our Coffee and Conversation group to visit the Museum of Somerset on 19th June. Twenty five of us had a tour of the galleries courtesy of the museum staff who explained some of the exhibits and were able to answer questions and chat about the Museum as we walked around. For some of our friends it was their first visit to the Museum, and we were all made to feel very welcome. At one point we were asked ‘if you could take home one item from the Museum, what would you choose’. The coin hoards were very popular, but some of the ladies were more interested in the large iron cooking pots! We would like to thank the Museum staff, and Tilly for organizing it for us.
