Employment Workshop

On 8th March, TWR held an Employment Workshop to help refugees improve their chances of finding a job.  We are very grateful to Exeter University, who sponsored the event, to Somerset Diverse Communities, who talked about CVs and interviews, and to ACH Bristol who discussed pathways to employment and digital skills.

We also wanted to learn about the experience of being a refugee in the UK and to see what skills the refugees want to improve. The responses showed there was a desire to broaden computer know-how (using an App, Microsoft office, etc) and to find out about booking train tickets and paying utility bills. It was also clear that the refugees all want to learn and improve their English and, those who can, are keen to find work.

We are very grateful to all of those who attended and completed the questionnaire.  There is a great deal to work on!
